Manner’s of  Speaking

Dare pass not the butter

nor pomegranate jam –

I shall save them for another

Sunday, bent on friends

Serve not the tea and chocolate-

no place them stay away,

save them for my sweet lover

should he pass by today

I will but  feast on dry toast,

water –

Not leaving sin to chance

taught my dearest  Mother,

“is fine grace and true romance “—
