immortality lies not

in those pages read – words worn naked,

bookmarked and sanctified by list –

rather in words graced by thought

against the chimes of a stillness,

scribed to the sound

of verses unrung; it is in such solitude

the meeting of

immortality is found

acknowledging the poet’s word

as a seamless art – the passion as alter

to the seemingly common – the resolution

as shield to the uncommon gifting- locked

in a timelessness, forsaking

time and mortality –

to await its own

immortality
