unto time must given
I spend
at late without passion felt –
stars appear now
and again
finding home, yet
just a resting place
for tears
gathered between
a dusk and daybreak –
fault I find none
no court to be assembled
verdict but my own –
freedom it lies
heartlessly awaiting
the first call of winter
timeless still – for the first
touch of spring

Barbara, this is beautiful and excellent. I love the hushed tone, the waiting, like a breath being held. I especially love
stars appear now
and again
finding home, yet
just a resting place
for tears
gathered between
a dusk and daybreak –
Those lines really touched me deeply. It’s amazing to me how your poems seem to always correlate with something that’s going on in my life. Or maybe it’s just the interpretation I bring to the read. Either way, I love it.
