I met Wisdom at the Wailing Wall
Sitting quietly in the noon day sun
She asked I sit beside her
Recounting the reason I had come
All the while the sundial’s fingertip
Slowly traveled toward the dusk
Weaving Wisdom with timelessness
As my sorrow gave way
To trust —

I like the slow movement of the poem, like the sun tracing past the dial.

Beautiful! The sundial’s fingertip is a wonderful image. I love the music in the words. But I especially love that the poem ends with the word “trust.” It was unexpected, and I love that “oh” of revelation it gives me.

what’s that on the wall?

Julie,
It is always a joy to hear from you, you are always so positive in your comments it always brightens my day. “Trust” is a hard thing to swallow for most of us but I am learning slowly – I believe the image and metaphor of poetry is a wonderful teacher.
take care

Trust is a hard thing to swallow. It’s that vulnerability that you give when you do express emotion. It is so hard and I’m appreciative that it ended in trust. It should, shouldn’t it?

My Existence, Yes, I do believe is should end in trust — it is a difficult decision to let go and trust — but it with that surrender that we really come to find out who we really are —
As always, I am happy to hear from you and appreciate your insite.
